Letter to Ignatieff

Honorable Mr. Michael Ignatieff

Canadian Liberal Party Leader

June 19, 2010

Dear Mr. Ignatieff

Mr. Issa Mosa, the vice president of Kurdish National Congress of North America, has informed us about your background and being a friend of disadvantaged people.

As you might know, the people in all parts of Kurdistan are among the most disadvantaged people in the world in term of linguistic, cultural, and national rights. Traditionally Kurds have been without friends and oppressed by the central governments of Turkey, Iran, Iraq, and Syria. Thorough the support of the free world and its political leaders, leaders such as yourself, the Kurds in Iraq have a made a significant progress, gained recognition as member of the Kurdish nation, and become a reliable advocate of democracy and freedom in the Middle East. The Kurds in other parts of Kurdistan are still denied their basic rights and need the support of leaders such as yourself.

I would like to extend the hand of friendship to you on behalf of the board of directors of Kurdish National Congress of North America and ask for your support in helping the Kurdistani people to gain their cultural, linguistic, and national rights.

Meanwhile we wish you and your colleagues a successful conference on Canadians Policy Development in Edmonton, Alberta.

Sincerely,

Kamal Artin, President

Kurdish National Congress of North America www.kncna.org
