In tandem with their military build up to invade the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, the Turkish regime has launched vicious and false media propaganda to silence any voice speaking against their invasion. They have targeted the KNC with their smear campaign of false accusations.
Since its inception in 1988 as a reaction to the Halabja chemical genocide, the KNC has been a voice for all oppressed and suffering Kurds throughout the world, advocating to improve their plight and oppose the oppression at the hands of their occupiers.
The KNC is an independent organization and is not affiliated with any other organizations or parties. The KNC has been built on the principle of advocating human rights and self determination for Kurds through peaceful and democratic means.
We do not advocate nor condone the use of violence to resolve conflicts. We urge all peace loving nations to call on the Turkish regime to stop their military and media aggression against the oppressed Kurdish people.
We call on the Turkish government to solve the Kurdish problem within Turkey through a direct dialogue with the PKK by issuing a general amnesty to pave the way to a democratic dialogue in the Turkish parliament as PM Mr. Erdogan calls for.
