Your effort in offering Kurdish language at your prestigious university is remarkable, and it is highly appreciated by our Kurdish community in America and to a larger extent by our people in Kurdistan.

While Kurdish is not only prescribed but also suppressed in Iran, Turkey, and Syria, your effort is noble in giving this forbidden language a healthy image in such a renowned academic institution. This encourages the speakers of the Kurdish language in Middle Tennessee to not only learn their native language academically, but also stay close to their indigenous culture and heritage. Once again we thank you and all the Kurdish students at MTSU who worked hard to make this a reality; and wish you all the success in maintaining the course. We hope that in future semesters you will have more students register for the class.

Sincerely yours,

Kirmanj Gundi

President

20100212-LetterKNC-Letter-2-Dr.Neely-MTSUDownload

Dr. Kari Neely, Assistant Professor Department of Foreign Languages Middle Tennessee State University Murfreesboro, TN 37132 February 12, 2010 Dear Dr. Neely: We at the Kurdish National Congress of North America would like to extend to you our heartfelt thanks for including a Kurdish course in your curriculum.
