(Ebru News\/AP) US Attorney General Michael Mukasey vows that the United States will continue to cooperate with Turkiye against terrorist groups saying that the two countries are working together on measures to put an end to terrorism. Mukasey said, “Cooperation has been active and successful and it continues.” He went on to say, “The target is to curtail terrorism, organized crime, narcotics smuggling and cyber crime.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mukasey avoiding the details of the cooperation involved said that it was aimed against the Kurdish Workers’ Party known as PKK. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
On his way back to the US Mukasey told reporters at the Esenboga Airport that the US is in close cooperation with Turkiye on terror issues. He also said struggling with the terror organization is a complex problem. He reiterated, “there is no simple answer to this question.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mukasey said he also discussed measures against Al-Qaeda, which has stepped up activities in Turkiye in recent years. ” Our two countries can expand our collaboration on this and other judicial and law enforcement matters,” Mukasey told reporters after a two-day official visit to Turkiye where he met with Turkish Interior Minister Besir Atalay and Justice Minister Mehmet Ali Sahin. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
